Doug and Cherryl began playing duets together in 2006, when Doug moved into Cherryl's neighbourhood and began building a recording studio in his new basement. They were also musically involved with a few others and local coffee house performances, when Steve joined the duo. In the fall of 2008, Grace completed their group and they became Never 2 Late, a name that reflects their attitudes towards music and performing.

Never 2 Late's inaugural performance was at the Barnhartvale Coffee House in October 2008. All four members had performed with other groups before, but this time it felt right, cohesive, and complete. They have been performing regularly at coffee houses, fundraisers, retirement complex gatherings, and events like New Year's Eve and Mardi Gras.
